The importance of farming

 


I have been a freelance writer in Atlantic Canada for almost 20 years. Starting out as a daily newspaper reporter in rural New Brunswick, I became increasingly aware of the challenges facing today's agriculture industry as I delved into farm-related issues. I now focus primarily on agriculture writing.


I am editor of  AgriSuccess Express, a weekly email agriculture newsletter and associate editor of AgriSuccess Journal, a bi-monthly glossy magazine, both distributed by Farm Credit Canada. I am a regular contributor to the publications too, along with journalists from across the country. AgriSuccess Journal is edited by Kevin Hursh, the Saskatoon-based agriculture journalist, broadcaster and communications consultant.

I also want to help you tell your story, working with you to promote your business and your point of view, or teaching you how to tell your story yourself.

Professional Organizations

 

Canadian Farm Writers Federation is an amazing organization of agricultural communicators, including journalists, editors, broadcasters, and business and government communicators. I am the past president of CFWF.

 

The Professional Writers Association of Canada represents over 500 professional freelance writers in the country, including myself. I am a professional member and serve on the local chapter's executive. 

MonctonWriters.ca is where you'll find more information about other freelance writers in Moncton, New Brunswick. All are PWAC members. Check out the site for writing events within the city and across the country.

Moncton Press Club is the regional meeting place for newshounds.
